Summary:
The Software Engineer will be responsible for bringing new digital products to market and enhance existing ones by leveraging your expertise in software development with state-of-the-art industry frameworks collaborating closely with product management on engineering teams.
Essential duties/responsibilities:
1. Develop software enhancements specified by senior engineers in collaboration with product owners, to deliver i-Ready experiences.
2. Develop robust software with design guidance from senior engineers accounting for seamless customer experience at scale.
3. Operate with a continuous improvement mindset leveraging feedback loops such as code reviews and state-of-the-art code quality and productivity tools.
4. Develop automated unit and integration tests to accompany all application code.
5. Contribute ideas and effort to improve the efficiency of our software development lifecycle.
6. Contribute to code maintainability by addressing technical debt and defects.
7. Communicate clearly and consistently to ensure seamless progress on shared team goals.
8. Engage in proactive learning to improve functional as well as technical knowledge.
Required Job Skills and Abilities:
1. Strong communication skills.
2. A strong desire for self-development demonstrated by academic or industry achievements.
3. Experience with any of the following technologies is an advantage: JavaScript, CSS, React, Redux, canvas.
4. Previous experience in building responsive web applications calling backend service APIs.
5. Experience working in the world of open-source projects.
6. Familiarity with Agile software development practices.
Required Education and Experience:
1. Bachelor’s in computer science preferred
2. Experience with web application development as a co-op software engineer or intern.
