Gearing up the hiring process in the IT sector, top companies like Walmart, Myntra, Intuit, Tata Class Edge, Country Delight, Juspay are hiring for Software Development Engineering full-time roles and internships across engineering colleges in India. After witnessing a slump due to the pandemic caused lockdown, the IT sector in India is maturing and is on the pathway of hiring new and significant talent.
Confirming the confluence of technologies, the company demand is at an all-time high resulting in the off-campus hiring process. Designed as a single assessment process, these IT majors are offering a package of upto INR 32 LPA along with internship opportunities at a stipend of INR 90,000 per month.
As per the information provided on Dare2Compete’s website, students of B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech / MCA whose year of passing will be 2022, 2023; and freshers and working professionals of 2019, 2020, 2021 graduating batch are eligible for the recruitment drive. Academic qualification varies from company to company: some may have a minimum requirement of 50% in Xth and XIIth while others may have this at 60%.

Candidates will be recruited on the basis of cumulative scores attained through four rounds of assessments. The first round will test the general aptitude and logical reasoning skills of the applicant through 25 questions in MCQ format to be answered in 30 minutes. Second round will comprise of basic programming fundamentals which the candidates will have to answer in another 30 minutes. The third round will be a soft skill assessment consisting of MCQ and a subjective test with audio and visual questions. The fourth and the final round will be optional to some companies, where they will test the elementary coding skills of the qualified candidates.
In the past several months, news around massive hiring by IT majors is doing round the corners, indicating a high number of vacancies. Though the companies do visit campuses, off-campus hiring has become the new trend in the IT sector. From D2C itself, companies like Walmart hired 96 candidates at a package of 26 LPA, Juspay conducted a hiring challenge to hire candidates at a package of 13-15 LPA, and Flipkart at a package of 26.57 LPA. By the time the hiring drive details were jotted down, 70,000 students had already registered.
To date in FY22, the top five IT businesses alone intend to hire nearly 96,000 individuals, according to NASSCOM, the industry’s trade association. As the experts suggest, the numbers will only increase as IT firms are looking forward to a double digit growth.
