Role: QA automation Intern

Location: Remote

Notice Period: Immediate joiners preferred

Duration: 6 months

Timings: 8 hours

Job Summary:

As a QA Automation Intern, you will support the Quality Assurance (QA) team in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. You will work closely with the QA engineers and software development teams to design, develop, and execute automated test scripts and perform various quality assurance tasks. This internship position offers valuable hands-on experience in software testing and automation in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard testing frameworks, tools, and scripting languages.
• Collaborate with QA engineers to identify test requirements and design efficient and effective test cases.
• Execute automated test scripts and perform manual testing as needed.
• Identify, report, and track software defects and issues using bug tracking systems.
• Assist in troubleshooting and isolating issues encountered during testing and collaborate with developers to resolve them.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the QA process, including suggesting process enhancements and best practices.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in QA automation.
• Document test procedures, test results, and other relevant documentation.
• Participate in team meetings and provide status updates on assigned tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, product managers, and business analysts, to ensure software quality.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of software testing concepts, methodologies, and practices.
• Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Basic programming skills in one or more languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#).
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Appium, Cucumber).
• Ability to write and execute SQL queries to perform database validations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience with software testing or QA processes.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and web services (REST, SOAP).
• Understanding of basic networking concepts.
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus.
