General Summary:
As a Qualcomm Software Test Engineer specializing in Storage Test in Hyderabad, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our cutting-edge products. You will be responsible for designing, developing, creating, and modifying test cases to validate embedded software, cloud software, system algorithms, application software, automation, and specialized utility programs. This role involves collaborating closely with various engineering teams to design and implement comprehensive test plans for our world-class products.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 1+ year of work or academic experience with Programming Languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
- 1+ year of experience with Software Test or System Test, including developing and automating test plans and/or tools (e.g., Source Code Control Systems, Continuous Integration Tools, and Bug Tracking Tools).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Applies software and systems knowledge to assist and support the design, development, creation, and modification of test cases and validation of embedded software, cloud software, system algorithms, application software, automation, and/or specialized utility programs, specifically focusing on storage testing.
- Designs and implements basic test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures to identify failures within a determined area of code related to storage functionalities.
- Writes functional tests for storage-related features to ensure their proper functionality and performance.
- Assists in the identification, analysis, and documentation of software defects, particularly those related to storage.
- Collaborates effectively with other members of the project team to achieve project objectives and improve the overall quality of the product’s storage aspects.
- Assists in the development of test case automations and/or scripts to improve productivity in storage testing.
Level of Responsibility:
- Working under supervision.
- Decision-making affects the direct area of work and/or work group.
- Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information related to testing.
- Tasks involve multiple steps that can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization are needed to complete tasks effectively.
