Tech Mahindra Test Pattern and Syllabus


The selection process of Tech Mahindra 2016-2017 remained the same as previous year without any major change but there was a bit of change in aptitude test alone which we will see in detail. It has 3 rounds as follows.

1st Round – Aptitude test

2nd Round : Technical Interview

3rd Round : HR Interview

Sometimes companies conduct written tests through third party service providers such as AMCAT and eLitmus. So in such scenarios you need to prepare based on amcat syllabus and elitmus syllabus respectively

Tech Mahindra Test Pattern 2016-2017:

1st Round – Aptitude test (Computer Based Linear test, Not Adaptive)

Tech Mahindra has slightly modified its test pattern by reducing the no of questions to 130 from 170. But the time limit remains the same. Let us get in to details.

Total Questions – 130
Time Allowed – 80 Minutes
Total Marks – 130
Negative Marks – No

Section wise Questions break-up – 75 Questions from Verbal Ability and 55 Questions from Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning. Also there is no section wise time limit.

Sectional Cut-off – Yes, although there is no sectional time limit the scores for both the sections are calculated separately and those students who clear the cut-off in both the sections are shortlisted for the next round. Hence concentrate equally on both the sections.

QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE:
Probability, Permutations & Combinations, Algebra, Averages, Time Speed & Distance, Time & Work, Profit & Loss, Ratio & Proportion, Simple & Compound Interest, Percentage, Number Series, Mixtures & Alligations, Simplification, Number System, Heights and Distances, Geometry & Mensuration, Data Sufficiency, Logarithms, Progressions

LOGICAL REASONING:

Puzzles, Syllogisms, Binary Logic, Clocks & Calendars, Cubes & Dice, Series, Analogies, Classification, Blood Relations, Directions & Distances, Ordering & Ranking, Coding-Decoding, Non-Verbal Reasoning, Data Sufficiency, Seating Arrangement, Venn Diagrams, Arrangements & Patterns, Problem Solving, Coded Inequalities, Double Lineup, Logical Deductions, Routes & Networks, Scheduling, Grouping & Selections Verbal Reasoning

ENGLISH:

Reading Comprehension, Synonyms & Antonyms, Fill in the Blanks, Analogy, Theme Detection, Direct & Indirect Speech, Active & Passive Voice, Para Jumbles, Sentence Jumbles, Error Spotting, Phrase Replacement, One Word Substitution, Spellings.

How To Clear Written Test – Strategy:

130 questions in 80 Minutes this itself should give you the clue that the questions are going to be easy and it is going to be the game of speed. Since there is no negative marking your strategy should be to attend 40 questions of Verbal in the first 30 minutes and 30 Questions of Quant & Reasoning in the next 30 minutes with an accuracy of at-least 85%. The remaining 20 minutes can be used to solve the left out 35 Questions in Verbal and 25 Questions in Quant & Reasoning.

If you clear the 1st Round then there is more than 70% chance of getting the Job offer. Hence practice as many tests possible and improve your Aptitude Skill.
