Job Summary
- The Associate DevOps Engineer will perform an Applications Support role responding to incidents and service requests on Trimble’s products and platforms that impact Trimble customers.
- You will have exposure to a wide range of technologies and industries which Trimble operates in. You will be required to follow runbooks and investigate/resolve incidents and fulfill requests in a timely manner. You will be working closely with Cloud Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers and Service Managers to expand your knowledge and develop your technical capabilities.
- This role requires you to build a knowledge of technologies, practices, and procedures within the role. Being able to follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing problems from which answers can be readily obtained. You will receive detailed instruction, guidance and direction from more senior level roles.
Educational
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study. A degree can generally be substituted with relevant work experience and/or a certificate/training program in addition to the guidelines listed below. Relevant fields of study include but are not limited to:
- Computer Science
- Computer Engineering
- Software Engineering
- Information Technology
- Information Systems
Work Experience
- From 1-2 years experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – Must-Haves
- Communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Awareness and appreciation of working to Service Levels
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve routine technical issues.
- Ability to follow standard practices, procedures and work instructions to execute tasks under detailed instruction and guidance.
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
- Awareness of ITIL processes/practices
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with operating systems (Linux, Windows) and command-line interfaces.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – Nice-to-Haves
- Basic understanding of software development concepts and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar)
- Understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
- Understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
- Basic understanding of networking concepts.
Travel
- Travel is typically not required for Development and Operations Engineering positions.
Schedule
- This position requires a flexible schedule, which will include morning shifts and late night shifts on rotation.
Management Responsibilities
- The Associate DevOps Engineer role is an individual contributor and does not manage other employees.
